  • How can therapy help me?
For many, the experience of being truly heard and understood without judgment is rare. Those we are closest to often have their own perspectives and desires, which can make us hesitant to reveal our authentic selves for fear of rejection or wanting to shield them from our struggles. Therapy provides a dedicated and safe environment where you can openly discuss your thoughts and feelings with a qualified professional. Your therapist is there to guide you in navigating your challenges and finding paths to healing and progress.
  • How can I book an initial consultation?
To book an initial consultation please use the contact form or send an email to contact@adrianaburnstherapy.co.uk sharing your availability and whether you’d like in-person or therapy online.
  • What should I anticipate during the first consultation?
The first consultation is your chance to share your story and get comfortable in the therapeutic setting. If this is your first time talking to someone who is completely neutral, I want to ensure that you feel at ease and fully grasp how therapy can be beneficial for you. In our initial session, we will discuss: What led you to seek therapy Your personal background Your expectations for therapy Our collaborative agreement This session is a great opportunity to determine if we connect well. There’s no obligation to continue with regular therapy after this meeting. If either of us feels that we aren’t the right match for any reason, I will do my best to help you find another therapist.
  • I’ve made the choice to begin regular therapy after my first consultation. What should I do next?
If you’re ready to start regular therapy after your initial meeting, we’ll schedule weekly sessions lasting 50 minutes. It’s essential that these sessions occur at the same time and on the same day as your first consultation, unless we agree on a different arrangement. This consistency helps establish a structured environment that fosters a sense of safety for our work together. We can either set up an open-ended agreement or decide on a specific number of sessions. Remember, you’re free to conclude therapy whenever you feel it’s right time for you.
  • How long are sessions and how often are they?
Sessions (including the initial consultation) last for 50 minutes and take place on a weekly basis.
  • What is the fee and how do I pay for my session?
The fee for each session is £55. This is payable in advance by BACS transfer. Bank details will be provided ahead of your initial consultation. You may pay weekly, on the day of your session, or monthly in advance if you prefer.
